Tulsa Elections and Candidates

Oklahoma's Green Country

George Washington, our first president under the Constitution, never joined a political party, and the Constitution makes no reference to parties.  Nevertheless, politics without parties is rare in America today.  There are two major political parties, but a large number of minor parties come and go.  Oklahoma law makes it particularly difficult for minor parties to appear on the ballot, but some have succeeded.
